Whether you’re hiring or in the market for your next great opportunity, you need to understand what you offer and how the hiring process, when done well, helps the organization advance. Whether recruiting top employees, or competing for that sought-after position, you need to know what you’re selling and to make the ‘product’ compelling and attractive.

Participants at this Trillium PDX will identify, discuss, and learn

  • The knowledge, skills, and abilities not-for-profit sector organizations are seeking in 2018, and related hiring trends you should understand
  • How to prepare to secure the best position – or candidate – by using the right information and presenting yourself in the best manner, including tips from a senior consultant who has interviewed thousands of professionals/association managers
  • Why behavioural profiles can help assess fit to culture and an existing team, and how to effectively market your own “style” regardless of what it may be
  • From participant questions at the PDX on all aspects of the hiring process, from due diligence to compensation practices to succession.

Participants will receive their own behavioural profile and learn more about how to use this tool and apply it in their own organization or for their next job opportunity. Early registration is encouraged so that you can complete, receive, and save your profile in time to bring it to the PDX on February 22 (you need not reveal details about your profile in the session).

Presenter:

For the past 20 years Jack Shand has helped hundreds of associations, charities, regulators and other organizations hire the right people. He has interviewed thousands of senior individuals from all sectors, from former Cabinet Ministers to recent graduates and people transitioning into association management for the first time. He combines best practices in recruiting and candidate evaluation with a keen understanding of organizational leadership, complemented by his own early career leading three national associations as CEO. He has seen it all (or most of it!) and will share his insights to help you and your organization in hiring the best people.
