Remarks from our NEW Trillium Chair

RGlassheadshot-oct172019trilliumGreetings from the Chair

Back in the spring of 2013 I signed up for CSAE Trillium’s Summer Summit, as a non-member. That was my first experience with this group of friendly and dedicated professionals. Now, six years later, here I am as your new Chair for 2019-2020. I’m honoured to take on this role, and humbled by the achievements of those who’ve come before.

You can expect to hear me talk a lot about the benefits and joy of volunteering throughout my term. I’ve been an active volunteer for a multitude of organizations since my early teens! I’ve held leadership positions and carried boxes, I’ve planned budgets and stuffed envelopes, I’ve managed seminars and made phone calls. Each volunteer opportunity has contributed to the person I am today, both professionally and personally. I encourage everyone to raise their hand and join the over 12 million Canadians who participate in some form of volunteer work each year (source: Statistics Canada). Do something to positively contribute to any organization that brings you satisfaction, and be sure to consider CSAE Trillium for volunteer opportunities large and small – everyone is welcome.

Now I may be the 2019-2020 Chair, but that is only one seat at the table. I’m thrilled to be supported this year by an outstanding group of volunteer leaders that make up the CSAE Trillium Council. Collectively the Council will guide our volunteers, committees and staff to deliver the high-quality programming you’ve come to expect from CSAE Trillium. We’ll wholeheartedly participate in the ongoing alignment of goals and policies throughout the full CSAE network, and share the best practices CSAE Trillium is known for.

It’s an exciting time to be part of CSAE Trillium – and I’m so happy you’re on this journey with me.
