CSAE Trillium Charity of Choice Update: Future Possibilities for Kids by Rickesh Lakhani, Executive Director
The first thing we have to do is say a huge thank you to all of the members, sponsors, supporters, volunteers and staff who have done so much for our future leaders! Since Future Possibilities for Kids became the CSAE Trillium Charity of Choice, you have raised tens of thousands of dollars, sent us great volunteers, made meaningful connections and raised awareness about our cause that has made us so much stronger. We are better able to support children in their middle years, ages 9 to 12, at a critical time in their lives, to gain confidence, leadership and connect with the world around them while doing good in their communities.
So what have we been up to?
As part of our plans to grow our reach, we added another location to our Camp Contribution, servicing 6 communities and close to 400 kids this summer! Some of the goals achieved by Camp Kids include:
- Creating lemonade stands to raise awareness about environmental issues
- Organizing local park cleanups to make them safer and more beautiful
- Creating birdhouses to give birds a place to connect and feed
This Fall we aim to grow our flagship Ready, Set, Goal! program, where children are matched with supportive adult KidCoach volunteers, from 175 to 300 matches! This expanded program will create more ripples of good throughout the community.
Our Kids have such amazing imaginations and desires to create a better world. Here are some of the dreams they have for a stronger future that you are helping them to bring to life!
