Message from the President
Can anyone imagine how any association functions without the contributions of volunteers? They bring vision, strategic thinking, ideas, and necessary hands-on support. It certainly is true here at the CSAE-Trillium Chapter. Our success is due in large part to the ongoing support of volunteers. Knowing the caliber of members we have at the Trillium Chapter, you are likely already involved on a committee, have volunteered at an event, been a speaker at an educational session, or more, AND you are also likely volunteering in your community making it a better place too.
April, known as Volunteer Appreciation Month, is just around the corner. While you are recognizing and appreciating your volunteers, please do two things: give yourself a pat on the back for all the good work that you do; and know that we, at the CSAE-Trillium Chapter, are deeply appreciative of our volunteers and all the good that you do to make our Chapter a valued resource to our members.
Even better, you should consider treating yourself to some knowledge-building professional development. This year’s Summer Summit will be here before you know it so be sure to register now and join us at Deerhurst in Huntsville, July 8-10, 2015. Our volunteer committee has lined up another outstanding and intensive educational program. I’ve never been disappointed with this event and I’m sure you won’t be either.
The Summer Summit is also a great place to put into practice all the networking tips that Dana Cooper will share with you in his two-part article on networking in this and an upcoming issue of FORUM. I would be remiss if I didn’t take a moment to express my thanks and sincere appreciation to my fellow board directors. You give countless hours and bring your expertise to support the Chapter, making it a better place too. It is an honour to volunteer alongside each of you.
