Keeping The Discussions Strategic – “Mock Board Meeting”

Thursday, February 23, 2017

9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (breakfast at 8:00)

Location:  Chelsea Hotel, Toronto, 33 Gerrard Street West, Toronto, ON, M5G 1Z4

We say we want boards to be more strategic. But how can we support this during board discussions that aren’t explicitly about the strategic plan? What are the pitfalls that boards tend to fall into? How can staff help board members stay on track to keep discussions appropriately strategic – without going into the clouds? You will leave this meeting with greater insight as to how to keep your board focused and strategic at all times.

Meredith Low will moderate a Mock Board Meeting portrayed by a panel of “Directors” alternating with round table group discussions on the various scenarios presented. Meredith will wrap up each behaviour with thoughts on encouraging a more strategy-focused Board.
